About Us
The Family Behind Absolutely Pampered Poodles!


 

We’re Ted and Tamie Cook, the family behind Absolutely Pampered Poodles in McLeansville, North Carolina. We’ve now been breeding Poodles for over a decade, but our story began with a very personal need.

As a young child, our youngest daughter, Hannah, started having seizures, mostly at night. We needed a service dog who could alert us when she was having a seizure. That need brought Poodles into our lives. Known for their exceptional intelligence and low-shedding coats, they felt like a wonderful fit for our family and Hannah’s service-dog needs.

By then, our older daughters, Brittany and Ashley, had grown up and moved out. They fondly remembered the years we raised Great Pyrenees when they were children. Helping with those puppies was one of their favorite childhood memories, and they wanted Hannah to experience that same joy.

“Please do it for Hannah,” they encouraged us, both promising to help. And over the years, they have kept that promise in so many ways!

Brittany, our oldest daughter, is a beautician in downtown Greensboro and does a phenomenal job helping us groom our Poodles. Ashley works in healthcare through Cone Health and is always ready to lend a hand whenever we ask. Both have Poodles of their own, and we absolutely love our granddogs!

We are so very blessed that Hannah has not had a seizure since she was 13! Her devoted service dog, King Bo, now enjoys his new role as “Grandpa King,” lovingly overseeing the puppies born and raised in our home. With tiny paws to watch over and puppy mischief to supervise, he takes his grandpa duties very seriously—and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

What began with a need for Hannah grew into years of raising puppies together, making memories, and welcoming wonderful families into our lives. We feel so blessed to share this work with our daughters.

Our puppies are raised inside our home, surrounded by everyday family life, gentle handling, and plenty of love. We put our hearts into helping each puppy grow and finding a family where they can be cherished.
